Welcome to Risk Less and Prosper

This website is a companion to the book — and it’s dedicated to providing you with tools and practical guidelines for the goal-based investing we advocate. You’ll find stories to share, investment steps to follow, a blog, and a library of resources that we are now beginning to build.

Like the book, this website is based on the premise that investing is first and foremost about you — your goals, your values, your resources, your needs, and your ambitions — and it will be devoted to helping you reach your chosen destinations as safely as possible.

Unlike much of what you come across in the media about investing, the goal-based approach is rooted firmly in academic study. We think it needs — and deserves — a wider general audience. So we plan to stick to real-world stories and use plain language. For those of you who are interested, we’ll also be adding links to new academic studies when they are relevant. But our main focus will stay on real people, common investing dilemmas, and practical strategies.

So, how are you feeling about the financial markets these days? Has the white-knuckled ride of the stock market rollercoaster exhausted your patience, if not your resources?
